How to attract more customers to your website in three easy steps

So, you’ve built an amazing website with some kick-ass content, but you’re really struggling to attract any form of worthwhile traffic. Do you think all is lost? Well, you’d be wrong! We know it can be difficult turning traffic in to customers, so here’s our guide on how to improve your traffic in just three easy steps.

1. Create a blog

One of the most important things any company can do to improve their online presence is to create a blog. While a blog can be worthwhile, what’s important is to only do this if you think you can keep up with the pressures of updating a blog regularly. Remember, your blog can be seen as the online face of your company and if it’s only updated once every few months then any potential customers or clients will lose trust. Most successful blogs update daily, but we’ve seen some start off with one or two blogs a week, so start small with amazing, relevant content, and work your way up.

2. Optimise your blogs with keywords

This can be quite time consuming if you have an already-existing website, but if you don’t, make sure you keep on top of this from the start. There are some free tools online, such as Google’s Keyword Planner, which give you related keywords for the term you type in. Don’t stuff your blog with them, but try and fit in as many relevant keywords as naturally as you can for maximum exposure. There are various free SEO plugins on WordPress which can help you monitor this, too.

3. Focus on outreach

Outreach is one of the more important things any website owner can do. It’s likely that your inspiration for blog posts will come from competitors’ content which you’ve seen other companies link to. Once you’ve written an amazing piece of content and placed it live on your website, simply find out which other companies have linked to or discussed the topic and send them an email. Introduce yourself, what you’re about and explain why you’re emailing; generally companies will be happy to share relevant content. And if you can get authoritative websites linking to you, this will only increase your rankings in search engines and your organic traffic will flow!
